On Monday, September 15, the OHS seniors beat the juniors 14-7 in a powder puff football game. This type of event features female players and male cheerleaders. The game started at 7:00 and lasted for about an hour and a half.

Senior team member Lauren Hoff mentioned that many girls didn’t go to the practices at first but managed to fix their situation as the game grew closer.

In contrast, junior team member Erin Griffin said that her favorite part was the team aspect and going to practices.

With 30 seniors and 20 juniors, it showed in their teamwork and playing that both teams put in time and effort to practice, prepare, and try to win Monday’s game.

Though the football game was the main event and focus of the gathering, there were a couple of other bonus attractions which were geared toward feeding and further entertaining the crowd, which occupied about half of the stands.

Concessions were available, including shaved ice, pizza and other typical football stadium snacks.

On the sidelines there were teams of male cheerleaders sporting spirit-week attire and performing cheers for their respective teams.

All of the intricacies of the event were made possible by the contributions of OHS’ Freshmen Mentors and Student Government, in addition to the general supervision of OHS security and staff members.
