Tonight the Eagles play the Hamilton Huskies in the first football game of the season. Cleats will hit the grass at 7 p.m at the Jack Dillard Stadium, the OHS home field.

“Hamilton is a hard team, it’s going to be a close game. We’ll have to fight a battle every quarter,” said Jamal Jennings, junior and wide receiver, has been on the varsity football team since freshman year.

According to MaxPreps, Hamilton has won seven state titles and is ranked no. 9 in the state.

John Rodriguez, head coach of the varsity football team, said he is not concerned with the scoreboard and is only focusing on his players performance.

“The only thing I can tell you is that you will see O’Connor put up a hell of a fight,” said Rodriguez.
