Varsity baseball played Centennial tonight at home, and began their game with “Senior Night,” or a celebration of the seniors on the team.

Seniors, Austin Brakebill, Marco Burgarello, Nate Easley, Degan Harte, Matt Hodgson, Noah Kelly, Cameron Ming, Nicko Ortega, Greg Saenz, David Sederstrom and Corey Wilson were all honored by their family and friends.

OHS lost to Centennial 0-3 in their last game of the normal season.

“I wish we could’ve gotten the win for the seniors on senior day, but I wouldn’t wanna play us in playoffs.” said Colby Wyatt, sophomore.

They will know their seed for the playoff season on Thursday.

“It feels like we’re doing some good things, fine tuning for playoffs,” Said Ortega.

Both teams were scoreless until the third inning when Centennial scored 3 runs.

“We didn’t hit that great,” said Wyatt. “I think we needed to have a better plan out there.”

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Nate Easley had a hit and got to first base, but the team got three outs before he made it home.

At the top of the fifth inning, the OHS pitcher changed from Ortega to Wyatt, who pitched for the remainder of the game.

At the bottom of the fourth inning Greg Saenz had a hit and got a single but got out on the next hit.

In the third inning Centennial had one hit by Bryce Johnson. There were also two walks and one error on OHS’s part.
