Musa Morris, junior at OHS just recently won the Gatorade player of the year award.

When Morris found out he was excited.

“I was so excited. Being recognized for being the best I can be was a good feeling,” Morris said.

He was nominated by his soccer coach.

“The award is an eye opener for me. Everything I do impacts my life,” Morris said.

Morris winning this award impacts OHS as a whole.

“Musa winning this award is a great representation for our school,” Chandler Evans, athletics director at OHS.

Not only does it represent the school, but it truly represents the student athletes at OHS.

“It shows that coaches are developing and producing more for the student athletes on campus,” Evans said.

Morris feels as if he doesn’t have to stop doing his best just because of this award.

“I plan to keep improving and to continue doing my best at everything,” Morris said.
