Stugo Constructs Freshmen Float for
Homecoming Parade

With homecoming around the corner, students have been hard at work creating floats for the homecoming parade Friday.

Parade float construction began Monday, Sept. 9 and will continue for nearly two weeks until Thursday. The construction takes place in the maintenance area behind the cafeteria from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on weekdays.

There are benefits to donating time to float construction. Student volunteers will be allowed to walk beside the float during the parade on Friday.

“We had quite a few non-Stugo members,” said Matt Hernandez, junior. “So they go ahead and contribute their time and if they get enough hours, they can go ahead and walk alongside the floats.”

For students who require community service hours for their classes or clubs, float construction can provide those hours, depending on the class.

Coinciding with the OC Circus theme, the freshmen’s theme will be “Freshmen Fun Zone” the sophomore’s theme will be “Sophomore Stunts” the junior’s theme will be “Animal Tamers” and the senior’s theme will be “Abandoned Circus.”

The floats will be showcased at the Homecoming Game Friday at 7:00 P.M and students can show their school spirit by using #OCCIRCUS on Instagram and Twitter.
