Each year, new faces appear on the OHS campus, belonging to both students and teachers. Among these additions to the school is media productions, graphic design teacher and football coach, Mohamed El Nounw. His students may know him as Mr. Moe.

El Nounw coaches high school football because of how important of a growth phase it was for him when he participated as a kid. In this way, he is still involved as a football player today, at age 25.

Though he is new to OHS, El Nounw has been teaching for two years and coaching football at the college level for five, while occasionally acting as a structural assistant and substitute teacher.

He attended a number of schools, including Glendale Community College, Northern Arizona University, and a school in Aurora, Illinois. After graduating, he earned a bachelor’s degree and an associate’s degree.

El Nounw said the school, students and staff are great, and acknowledges that students have been respectful and “willing to learn.” He said he loves the idea of iPads and will be integrating them in this year’s curriculum.

“Technology is where everything is going,” El Nounw said. “It’s where life is going. I’m looking forward to this year.”
