Halloween Wars was released on October 2, 2011, had its new season come out on September 21, 2025, and ended on October 26, 2025. Halloween Wars is told from the perspective of a reality competition show, because it is told from this perspective, viewers get to see the different groups competing, how the judges view things, and what the host is doing.
In the new season of Halloween Wars, there were seven new groups, and each group had three people, which included a pumpkin carver, a cake artist, and a sugar sculptor. Each team creates a name, and the new groups call themselves Poisonous Perfection, Crumb Creepers, Graveyard Shift, Oven Coven, Terrifying Trio, Undercakers, and Wicked Sculptors.
Since Halloween Wars started in 2011, the show throughout the years has made itself known for its spooky, artistic challenges, which include a character made out of pumpkin, a character made out of cake, a tasting element, and decorations that are part of their theme with isomalt. (Isomalt is just a type of sugar that they have to leave at a certain temperature). The bakers also use chocolate, and the sugar artist will create a piece of either decoration or an important part of their story that they have to put on their sculpture. There are two judges: Shinimin Li, who is a cake and sugar artist who has judged the show since 2021, and Aatri Sequeira, who is a food writer and a television host, who has been a judge on Halloween Wars since 2021. The host, Jonanthan Bennett, had come back to host Halloween Wars in 2023, and has continued to host since then.
The team that won this season’s Halloween Wars was Poisonous Perfection, and the members of the group are Jamie Louks, who was the team’s sugar artist, Karine Turgeon, who was the team’s cake artist, and Pualina Stovall, was the team’s professional pumpkin carver. Jamie had gone on Halloween Wars in seasons 12 and 14, and because Poisonous Perfection had won the finale of season 15, she and her team won $25,000.
The Undercakers were a team that was always behind Poisonous Perfection by just a little bit, but they had almost gotten the win of the first four challenges before the finale. The Undercakers team consisted of Tenisha Billington, the team’s cake artist, Margi Laurin, the team’s pumpkin carver, and Nils Rowland, the chef or sugar artist of the team. Nils was previously on Halloween Wars in season 13 but had gone home without winning. Because the Undercakers and Poisonous Perfection both had people who had gone home in the previous seasons, both teams really wanted to win the finale for their people but only one team could win.
Poisonous Perfection won in the finale because the judges, Shinimin Li and Aatri Sequeira, had felt that the team had successfully made a masterpiece that fit perfectly into the theme, which was “Modern-day Spellathon.” One of the reasons the Undercakers did not win the finale in Halloween Wars was because Tanisha, the team’s cake artist, had made a background that looks similar to oil painting but was actually made with buttercream; the judges had felt that if they had used a lighter color on the inside of the background, then it would not have looked more similar.
Because of the small complaints that the Undercakers got from both the judges for their tasting element, modern-day character, background, and story, they ultimately did not win the finale. Poisonous Perfection had only gotten one complaint. Overall, the team that had won the finale and received $25,000 was Poisonous Perfection because of their tasting element and the detail they had put into their characters and story.
