The girls basketball season came to an end last Thursday night when the Lady Eagles played Valley Vista in their final game. They ended their season with a section record of 5-6, and a division record of 5-12.
“We obviously had a losing season, but I think we grew as players and as friends,” said Maddie Loos, freshman.“It was a really enjoyable season.”
Being the only freshman on Varsity this year, it took Loos a while to get used to playing with the rest of the Varsity team.
“At first I was really nervous, but the girls really took me in and made me feel welcome, and they became like my sisters,” Loos said.
Head coach, Rusty Rogers, was pleased with the girls’ performance this season.
“They fight to the end, and they have great attitudes, and that’s been the key to our success,” Rogers said.
JV and Freshmen
The JV girls finished their season with a final record of 11-7, and the freshman team ended their season with a record of 9-9.
“There was a lot of improvement, and we did good,” said Taryn Lee, freshman. “I think I personally did well, and I’m really excited for the program to grow under Coach Rusty.”
