The 2013-2014 season for girl’s soccer has taken its first steps towards the beginning of a great season starting with their first scrimmage of the season against Cactus Shadows, finishing with a 1-1 score.
“Cactus shadows has been a supreme team in division two for many years and have competed successfully against many division one teams so I think our ability to control that game means we have a very good team,” said girls soccer coach Mike Varela.
The girls team’s goal for this season is to make it to the playoffs.
“I know we are a great team and it’s our team cohesion and teamwork that will provide us the success that we desire. Everyone is a great team player,” Varela said.
Update: The girls game on Dec. 12 against Maryvale was a win with a final score 4-0. The girls game on Dec. 16 against Centennial was a win with a final score 5-0.
