The boys soccer team has started their season out with a bang.
Upcoming games are Mountain Ridge on Dec. 17 and Red Mountain on Dec. 27.
Their first game was on Dec. 3 and they beat Corona Del Sol, 3-1.
The second game was home, on Dec. 4 and they beat Desert Vista 2-1.
They played Barry Goldwater on Dec. 12 and beat them 1-0.
They played Centennial on Dec. 16 and won 3-1.
Jackson Jellah, junior, said, “The team is getting together. There’s good chemistry.”
He’s not worried about losing, in fact he’s confident that they will reach their goal of going to state.
New coach Harry Demos has only one goal: “Have each player reach his potential in the time that we have” and have fun doing it, Demos said.
“The team is capable of winning a state Championship, why not help the boys get it done?” Said Demos.
“No personal goals,” Jellah said. “It’s about the team.”
Some players may have been worried about the new coach, but not Jellah.
“He’s pretty much my dad,” Jellah said. “He’s very passionate and the right fit.”
While the boys remain undefeated as of Dec. 16 there are still plenty of games left to play.
