The first badminton game is today against Shadow Mountain.
Paula Cappelletti, coach, said that the team lost many strong players last year due to graduation.
Cappelletti said that the team is working on fundamentals right now.
“We have a lot of talent coming up. I really enjoy the group of kids we have. We are excited about this season and looking forward to state tournaments,” Cappelletti said.
Sarah Sanders, senior, said she is looking forward to winning the district tournament this year. The team tied with Mountain Ridge for first place at the tournament last year.
Sanders said that she feels bittersweet about this being her last year on the team. She is looking forward to team bonding.
“It’s a lot of the same girls who have played for the last three years, so we’ve become kind of a family,” Sanders said
Alyssa Fulmer, senior, feels the same way.
“This year more so than winning or losing, I am looking forward to bonding as a team,” Fulmer said.
