Coachella: is it worth the hype?

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is a famous annual music festival held over two weekends in Indio, California. The general admission price for just one weekend starts at $649. Many celebrities annually attend the festival, take pictures, and post them on social media, making it well-known among fans. People typically decide if it is worth going by looking at the artist lineup, the music festival booking big names to perform, drawing a significant crowd.

For many, the artists are the reason that Coachella is worth the hype. The opportunity to see their favorite musicians in one weekend outweighs any negatives. Dedication to their favorite artists is what it takes to get through Coachella. Many wonder if it’s worth seeing the artist you like at a festival or a concert. For many, they might say a concert because it’s more intimate, as others may say, at a festival you can see more than one performance for one cost and set amount of time.

While music is the primary focus of the festival, factors such as prices and location can also affect the overall experience. Festival prices can be quite expensive, especially when it comes to Coachella. The food they sell is not included with the ticket, so eating at the festival can be costly. The vendors also tend to upcharge for the food because festival goers don’t bring food. To have enough energy for a good time, you need to eat a substantial meal, therefore failing to account for food costs can lead to negative experiences.

Coachella takes place from April 11- April 20. Warmer weather is typically present around this time in California. For some people, attending a festival in the heat may sound unpleasant, especially in crowds, and being too close to others has been known to cause issues. Such as overheating, claustrophobia, and discomfort. Which can badly impact the festival experience that is Coachella.
