Following the California wildfires of January, many people banded together to help rebuild after the destruction. Several neighborhoods were burned down, and many people lost their homes. For the well-being of California, the state must work together to rebuild the damage.
Many people cannot afford to stay in California after losing their homes and have to face the distressing reality of finding somewhere else to live. During the fires, Californians helped each other put out fires affecting their homes. To combat the devastation, people need to band together during these exhausting times. Residents of the areas that were burned down have been physically and mentally exhausted after the devastation. A survivor stated in an ABC News article, “It’s a process where you’re numb and shocked”, describing how it has been after the destruction and trying to cope with the loss of people and homes.
The financial cost of rebuilding is huge. Many cannot afford to build and stay in the time it takes to build. The input of organizations and people all over the world is extremely important in restoring the City of Angels. Thankfully, some organizations exist, such as the California Community Foundation. They target the long-term needs of neighborhoods that were affected, many celebrities donated money to helpful organizations such as this one. People who donate large amounts of money are a symbol of how much L.A. means to people who have worked in the entertainment industry. For many, California has been the breeding ground for their success.
Stars like Beyoncé have pledged over 2 million dollars to assist families in recovery. American rapper and singer Doja Cat partnered with the American Red Cross to specifically design a line of clothes to help the charity’s relief efforts in California. The band Metallica granted $500,000 to relief efforts done by the California Community Foundation and the Pasadena Community Foundation. These celebrities/artists have greatly improved the odds of the ability to rebuild after such sickening wildfires.
The community in California is significant and it is saving the future of the state. So many citizens are pitching in with relief funds, reconstruction, and food needs. All of the people affected by the fires have an ever growing to-do list of things they have to achieve to get back on their feet. Step by step, we can foster hope for everyone impacted, guiding them back to a semblance of normalcy after the upheaval.
