OHS kicks off the end of this long, stressful year with their annual school carnival where students can indulge themselves with cotton candy, sunshine, and work off the sugar at fun carnival games.
During lunch on Thursday of this week STUGO will be hosting the carnival where classes are shorter, lunch is longer, and all the students go outside and enjoy themselves for the day.
“It’s a nice break from the norm and it’s something extra and fun for the students to do,” STUGO advisor Amanda Walker said.
Since February, STUGO has spent their time organizing the carnival this year. According to Walker, there are different rides then there was at last year’s carnival but keeping the same traditional carnival food and games.
She said that she’s excited and believes that it always grows and gets better every year.
“[Students reactions are] always positive even if they don’t participate in the carnival they appreciate the extra time they get to spend with their friends,” Walker said.
Some things to expect at the carnival are cotton candy, snow cones, and tons of fun. Along with a DJ and booths hosted by various different clubs with games and activities for the students.
