“At first it was slow and awkward but after about 35 minutes everybody started dancing with each other and it came out to be an awesome experience,” said Ashley Smith, a sophomore.
Candy Craze spirit week was from January 14-19 and was filled with dress up days for the students to get in the mood of the candy craze dance.
“Spirit week was really fun because it let me dress up in anything I wanted as long as it went with the theme,” said Itzi Ruelas, a sophomore.
According to some students, the carnival and dance were not promoted enough but the other events were fun.
“I find the week overall disinteresting and not advertised thoroughly, even though the spirit day’s had good themes and the assembly was extremely fun,” said Bailey Brammer, a freshman.
According to Stugo there were approximately 300 people at the carnival and 600 people at the dance.
“We never lose any money, we always make money, it is like a cycle that starts over, because all of the money that we get goes to the next spirit week and stuff for the school so it keeps building up,” said Marco Burgarello the secretary of Stugo.
There were mixed feelings about the spirit week and the dance but overall students decided it was a good experience.
“We have all put our best work and efforts into making spirit week enjoyable for the students of O`Connor and we will continue to make our school have spirit in everything we do” Burgarello said .
