Imagine traveling back in time to a different era, to a different country, to what seems like a different world. Taking that step back in time is the main objective of the history club here at OHS.
The history club has been running for the past five years under the watch of Barb Fike, a history and economics teacher at OHS.
“The history club is a place for students that enjoy history and politics,” Fike said.
Over the years the students and teachers have done things like reenact important events in history, organize the spring 40’s dance, honor US veterans, celebrate Constitution Day and conduct political debates.
“Being in the academy, I really like history and when I found out there was a history club, I was happy to join,” said Reece Andonov, a sophomore at OHS.
This is Andonov’s second year in the history club and she said she really enjoys learning about history and how the club is run.
History club meetings are held Mondays, after school. If this club catches your interest, then make sure to stop by their booth at club rush or ask Mrs. Fike for more information.
“The history club is a place for students who enjoy learning about the past and how America works,” Fike said.
