What are those students over there doing crowded around that sweet car, you ask? The most likely reason is that they are a part of OHS’s Auto Club.
The Auto Club is not new to the OHS campus. It has been around ever since the school started in 2003.
The Auto Club is advised by Denis Ohlwiler. The group hosts car shows and then works on getting as many people as possible to come to them.
“It’s a community thing so we try to get as many people to come out as we can,“ said Cesar Carbajal, club president.
They host two annual shows. One is in the winter, which has already passed and another on May 11th.
Carbajal says that the club’s goal is to get more people interested in cars. Ohlwiler wants the club to get more kids involved in something unique.
Ohlwiler started the club and enjoys the automotive atmosphere.
“It’s something I’ve been around my whole life,” he said.
Not only guys join this seemingly masculine activity either. Carbajal approximated that there are eight guys and five girls in it.
Auto club is held every other Friday.
So if you are the kind of person who doesn’t mind getting a little grease on their hands then go join the Auto Club!
