Throughout the film Lindsay Lohan and Ian Harding’s on screen chemistry made the story of Logan and Avery unfold perfectly. The way they portrayed these characters captured the tensions and old sparks between them that grew over time.
In the movie Avery and Logan face the challenge of hiding the secret that they used to date to their new significant other’s family. Throughout the movie they try to avoid awkward conversations and just decide to hide the truth. In the end this wasn’t the best idea and hiding the truth led to old sparks rekindling.

Director Steven Herek captured the cozy holiday feelings but he was also able to capture the different suspenses and drama that can come around when uncovering a family secret. This added tension to the storyline which made the movie captivating throughout the whole film.
Overall this film had a perfect blend of the charms of holiday romance while showcasing suspense and drama of discovering family secrets during the holiday season. From the outside the film appears as a fun family movie but it has layers of emotional depth to it. These conflicts led to family drama, growth and even love during the Christmas season.
