After constant disappointment Star Wars might have their newest hit. Many had cautious optimism when it came to this show due to how disappointing recent Star Wars content has been; however, so far it has definitely exceeded expectations and has a lot of riveting and entertaining moments.
Episode one focuses on the events after Star Wars: Rebels and how they have affected the Rebels crew. While many critics and fans have complained about Ahsoka feeling like a live action Rebels, it actually plays in its favor and helps to continue the story of different side characters. Sabine Wren who is one of the main characters in Rebels is at a forefront in this episode and you see her deal with the loss of Ezra Bridger, another character from Rebels. The ending of the episode was ambiguous and massively shakes up the landscape of Star Wars.
While episode two makes a controversial decision by bringing Sabine back to life, it makes up for it by having a really exciting episode. Episode two picks up right where episode one leaves off and is much more action packed than the first episode. It is also cool to see how this episode focuses on the hunt down for Grand Admiral Thrawn and the chaos that ensues. The show perfectly sets up some Rebels characters returning and it will be fun to see who shows up.
Episode three is probably the weakest so far due to a glaring issue. This episode tries to push the narrative that Sabine is Ahsoka’s padawan, when that never really happened in Rebels. While this is definitely the weakest episode so far it probably has the best fight of the show so far. Another part of the show that left a lot of viewers upset is that they just try to throw in Hera Syndulla’s son even though viewers already knew that if they watched Rebels. This is by no means a bad episode, but it is also nowhere near the best.
Episode four is by far the best episode so far and has a lot of the fanbase talking. The episode is kind of like a cat and mouse chase and features a riveting two-way lightsaber battle. Viewers also get an Ahsoka fake death that leads to one of the best Star Wars moments. In Rebels they introduce a concept called the “world between worlds” which is where Ahsoka ends up in at the end of the episode. At the very end of the episode there is an appearance from Anakin Skywalker and it has gone crazy on social media.
Star Wars fans have their hopes through the roof for episode five as it is getting a theatrical release. It will be interesting to see how they deal with Anakin Skywalker and if he is going to play a big role. Ahsoka has definitely lived up to expectations so far and is on pace to be one of the better Star Wars shows.
