Last year, the administration realized that the seniors  were not getting enough hours to graduate. To fix this problem they added an extra 12 minutes to the school.

Although, not all of the students were aware of the schedule change on the first day of school.

“On the first day of school I didn’t know we started earlier. So I had to run through campus on the first day. I also didn’t have time to get my blue schedule, so I had to miss the introduction to first hour to go back and get it,” said Lauren Friedrich, junior.

The changes made to the schedule are beneficial for seniors who need to graduate. However students and staff need to wake up earlier to make the start time. Mrs.Eick, biology teacher, says that she has to wake up a half an hour earlier to make the new start time.

The staff and students of OHS are slowly adapting  into the new school year.

“The new bells were complicated at first because I remembered last year’s schedule and I would try to go by that. Although now I’m used to it and it’s just like last year,” said Lauren Friedrich, junior.
